Eagles boss says Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze are ‘great players’ despite Euro snub
Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have enjoyed a remarkable season with the Eagles in the English Premier League and so were heavily tipped to make the Euro 2024 squads for France and England respectively.
That was not to be as both Crystal Palace stars were snubbed in the recently released squad lists.
Despite the omission, Eagles boss, Oliver Gardner has described both player as ‘great humans’ who put in so much work to develop their craft.
The Crystal Palace boss went on to praise Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze for their unwavering passion for the game, with revelation of how they would often stay behind after training sessions to indulge in extra practice and skills sessions.
“Everybody knows that they are great players, but what I also appreciate is that they are great guys, great humans,” the Austrian beamed according to the club website.
“They had to show me their passports this week because I thought they are brothers! But they aren’t.”
“You can see how much they enjoy football,” Glasner said. “This is the basement for being successful: enjoying what you do, loving what you do, loving the sport you are doing.”
“This is the environment we want to create, that everybody feels well,” he explained. “Everybody likes to come in the morning and work hard, having fun together. They show it at the moment. This is also crucial for their performances on the pitch and in the games.” Gardner remarked.
Meanwhile, both Micheal Olise and Eberechi Eze have Nigerian roots and are eligible to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
