Eguavoen reveals future Super Eagles roles for Ojo, Ishaq & 5 other NPFL stars

Coach Austin Eguavoen has revealed plans for at least seven players from the Nigeria Professional Football League to be part of the Super Eagles in the future.

The interim coach received backlash from a few fans who are pro-home-based players after his 32-man provisional list was released without a single player from the Nigeria Professional Football league.

They argued that he should have included a few players who they are sure will bring competition and patriotism to the Super Eagles fold.

Those for the exclusion argued that the players are not just good enough considering their perennial failures in the continental stages.

The exclusion and inclusion of home-based players have always generated serious conversion, with a few for their inclusion while many for their exclusion.

But the man in charge of selection has revealed that he has plans for the home-based players and he mentioned some names he has shortlisted while going round to watch the games.

“I have my own plan. We have our own plans. Like you know I have visited league venues and they are a couple of names I have in mind.

“I watched Kwara United, there’s one boy Azeez who is a very good midfield player, Tope from Rangers, Ishaq from Rivers, I think he followed us to South Africa for the Gauteng Under 17, I have been following him.

“There is Uche from Rivers as well, Olorunleke Ojo. In fact, I have their names here. These are all names I have penned down about seven of them. So this is why I told you I don’t have to tell you what my plans are. I have them close to my chest”, he concluded.
