Egypt beats South Africa to 2019 AFCON hosting rights

CAF has announced that Egypt will be the host nation of the 2019 AFCON after beating South Africa to the hosting rights.

Cameroon was billed to host the first ever summer Africa Cup of Nations but stripped off the rights due to late preparations.

Egypt who are the most successful african nation with 7 titles beat South Africa by 16 votes to 1 to claim their 4th ever hosting rights.

The 32nd edition of the africa cup of nations is scheduled for June 15th to July 13th, 2019.

Cameroon will now host the 2021 while Guinea who were supposed to host in 2021 will host in 2023.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria whi had failed to participate in any AFCON since they last won it in 2013 will be vying for just their 4th title this summer.
