Emmanuel King Tutored El-Kanemi Warriors Arrive In Guinea-Bissau For CAF Confederation Cup Clash
Emmanuel King tutored El-Kanemi Warriors have arrived safely in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second-leg clash against UDIB.
The Nigerian side arrived at the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport in Bissau, with all members of the delegation said to be in good condition after the journey.
El-Kanemi Warriors take a strong advantage into the return leg after securing a 3-0 victory over UDIB in the first leg played in Ikenne.
The Pride of the Northeast will now look to complete the job in Guinea-Bissau and secure their place in the next round of the competition.
Following the first-leg victory, head coach Emmanuel King praised his players for their efforts but admitted that the team still has a lot to improve.
King noted that the squad had been together for only about four weeks and was still developing.
“We have not arrived at that point. We are still participating. But at the right time, when we get there, you will see,” King said after the first leg when asked if he was satisfied with the team’s performance.
The coach also praised the players for their hard work, particularly their improvement in physical fitness since the squad was formed.
Despite the three-goal advantage, King said there was still plenty of work to be done but admitted that the result had increased his confidence in the team’s chances of progressing.
He described the victory as giving him “higher hopes” and said the team now has the “key” to qualifying for the second round.
With the return leg now set to take place in Bissau, El-Kanemi Warriors will aim to hold on to their advantage and complete their passage to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
