End of the road for Clippers? Griffin to miss remainder of play-offs, Paul out indefinitely

Blake Griffin will miss the remainder of the NBA play-offs, the Los Angeles Clippers announced on Tuesday.

The forward aggravated the injury to his left-quad tendon in the team’s 98-84 loss against the Portland Trail Blazers in game four on Monday.

Griffin originally injured the quad on December 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers and missed 41 games this season due to the injury.

The 27-year-old underwent an MRI which revealed no further structural damage, meaning the five-time NBA All-Star will be ready for the start of 2016-17 season.

However, the Clippers were unable to put a return date on Chris Paul, who underwent surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday to repair a right-hand fracture suffered in the third quarter of their loss to Portland.

“Dr. Steve Shin performed the operation and Paul will be out indefinitely,” a Clippers statement read.

The Clippers and Trail Blazers are tied at 2-2 in their first-round play-off series.
