Enyimba Assistant Coach highlights scarcity of goal-scorers in the NPFL

Enyimba FC Assistant Coach, Olarenwaju Yemi, has voiced concerns about the shortage of prolific goal scorers in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

Yemi made this observation following Enyimba’s recent game against Sporting Lagos, emphasizing that the scoring issue is not limited to the People’s Elephant alone.

After Enyimba secured a 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos, Yemi shared his perspective on the goal-scoring situation in the league.

He pointed out that, with the exception of Sikiru Alimi and Robert Mizo, there are few players in the NPFL who have managed to score eight goals or more this season.

“If you observe the league, except for Sikiru Alimi and Robert Mizo, I don’t think there is any player in the league that has scored 8 goals this season. There is no enough marksman in the league right now,” remarked Yemi.

The scarcity of prolific goal scorers is a noteworthy observation that raises questions about the attacking prowess in the NPFL. As Enyimba seeks to climb the league table, Yemi’s comments shed light on a broader issue that may impact the overall competitiveness and entertainment value of the Nigerian football league.
