Enyimba returns to winning ways, Adamawa United gifted first win in eight matches

Kano Pillars move to top, Warri Wolves move out of drop zone

Enyimba returned to the NPFL scene with a Matchday 23 visit to Bauchi, where they defeated the home side Wikki Tourists 2-1 to end a winless spell for the club. Enyimba took the lead through Reuben Bala in the first half before former Rivers United striker Stephen Gopey equalised for the home side with his second goal in four matches. Tosin Omoyele got the winner for Enyimba as they picked up a thoroughly deserved three points in the game.

Adamawa United picked up a 1-0 win at home to Katsina United, pulling the Changi Boys into the relegation zone. The lone goal came off the boot of a Katsina United player Sanusi AbdulMutalib as Adamawa United claimed the points. They remain 8 points adrift of safety in the league.

Kano Pillars returned to the top of the league with a 1-0 home win over Nasarawa United. Local lad Auwalu Ali Malam was at the end of a flowing Pillars move that involved Ahmed Musa, Nyima Nwagua and Rabiu Ali to score his 4th goal of the season, taking him to 10 goal contributions. Pillars are three points clear of Akwa United in second, although they have played one match more.

Warri Wolves picked up an important 1-0 victory over Lobi Stars at the Ozoro Poly Stadium thanks to a first half strike by Efe Yarhere. The result sees them move out of the relegation zone as they continue their revival under new coach Ortega Deniran.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah was restored to their default form as Dakkada defeated them 2-1 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. Isaac George scored twice for the home side before Ekene Awazie pulled one back for the Anambra Warriors, who remain in 19th place on the log.

Kwara United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Rivers United. Joseph Onoja opened the scoring for the Pride of Rivers with a brilliant strike from outside the box, before Christopher Nwaeze responded for the home side with a sweet strike of his own as both sides shared the spoils.

Sunshine Stars extended their winless run to 16 games as they moved to 18th on the log following a 0-0 draw at home to MFM. The Gbenga Ogunbote-tutored side have lost 8 and drawn 8 of their last 16 games, picking up a total of 8 points from a possible 48.

Heartland and Plateau United played out a 0-0 draw at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri as both sides were unable to break each other down in the fixture which held at night due to a heavy downpour during the day.
