Enyimba, Rivers United held as Dakkada secure consecutive wins

Enyimba up to second in NPFL, unbeaten in seven

Enyimba were held to a 1-1 draw at the Ozoro Poly Stadium by relegation-threatened Warri Wolves in their rescheduled NPFL Matchday 10 encounter on Wednesday. The People’s Elephant found themselves a goal down in the 23rd minute when Jackson Eru gave the home side the lead, before a 43rd minute red card to Warri Wolves’ Efe Yarhere gave Enyimba the numerical advantage. Their equaliser came in the 58th minute as Victor Mbaoma scored his 30th career NPFL goal following some neat build up play. The result means that Enyimba are now unbeaten in seven matches in the NPFL and are up to 2nd on the log, one point behind leaders Kwara United with a game in hand.

Rivers United picked up their first point in three games in the league as they drew 1-1 away to Plateau United. Rivers United took the lead in the 18th minute through Chika Godwin before a late penalty from Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga secured a share of the spoils for Plateau United. Rivers United remain in 8th place on the log, 6 points behind leaders Kwara United with a game in hand.

Dakkada FC picked up a second home win in the space of a week as they defeated the visiting Wikki Tourists 2-1 at the Nest of Champions in Uyo. The visitors from Bauchi took the lead through Idris Muhammed Guda before a towering header from Dakkada center back, Austin Osayande drew the Chosen Ones level. They secured all three points after a brilliantly converted strike from Isaac George in the box in the second half. The result moves Dakkada up to 7th on the log with 20 points after 13 matches.
