Enyimba tame Go Round FC in NPFL Rescheduled Match
Enyimba Intl on Wednesday tamed Go Round FC 2-0 in Calabar in a rescheduled NPFL matchday 13 fixture to go sixth on the NPFL log.
Goals from Joseph Osadiaye and Abdulrahman Bashir gifted the Peoples Elephant a win over the boys from Omoku in their first ever NPFL meeting.
Enyimba started on the front foot with the game first real chance going to Osadiaye as Mustapha’s ball to the far post was met by the winger, but his effort is tame and held by Stanley Nwabali.
Go Round will however hit the croosbar in the 20th min as Udeh’s free kick from just outside the area beats Ezenwa, but cannons back off the crossbar.
In a game of few chances in the first half, a missed clearance by Governor presented a gilt-edged chance to Otop, who thrashed his shot into the side-netting as both team headed for the break goalless.
Enyimba will however take the lead just six mins into the second half as Bashir lifted a cross into the area, and Osadiaye planted a fine header past Nwabali.
Bashir will then score a goal of his own as he drived a shot through the legs of Nwabali to give Enyimba a two goal cushion.
There was to be no further goals as Enyimba edged out the win to go sixth with 26pts from 16 matches
