Enyimba Thrash Shooting Stars 4-2 As Rangers Move Top Of NPFL

Enyimba recorded their first win of the EUROMATCH-NPFL season on Wednesday after defeating Shooting Stars 4-2 in one of the rearranged fixtures.
The nine-time league champions started strongly and took the lead in the seventh minute through Richard Ezinna, who capitalised on a high press to punish Kalu Nweke.
Enyimba continued to control the game and doubled their lead in the 29th minute when Damian Chibueze Ezeifule scored from distance.
Idris Abubakar added a third nine minutes before half-time as Enyimba went into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The home side extended their advantage just four minutes into the second half. Ifeanyi Ihemekwele finished off a pass from Wonah William to make it 4-0.
Shooting Stars coach Salisu Yusuf made changes to his team, and the visitors pulled two goals back.
Substitute Mustapha Adams Agba’a scored in the 76th minute before Johnmark Aule added another in stoppage time to make the final score 4-2.
The defeat marked a disappointing return to Aba for Yusuf, who previously worked as a coach at Enyimba.
Meanwhile, Rangers International moved to the top of the EUROMATCH-NPFL table after a 1-0 victory over Warri Wolves at the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro.
Godwin Obaje scored from the penalty spot in the first half to give the defending champions all three points.
Rivers United remained in second place after playing out a 1-1 draw away to Katsina United.
The game came to life early in the second half, with Samson Olasupo putting Rivers United ahead in the 47th minute. Sani Mubarak equalised three minutes later.
The Lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City ended in a goalless draw.
The EUROMATCH-NPFL will continue this weekend with Matchday 7 fixtures.
