Enyimba trash Abia Warriors in replay to force Emmanuel Deutsch into resignation
Enyimba of Aba trounced their back door neighbours Abia Warriors 4-1 in a rescheduled Match Day 20 game decided this morning.
The LMC had ordered a replay of the local derby behind closed doors at the Okigwe Township Stadium following clashes between fans of the two clubs on Sunday at the Umuahia stadium.
The match was abandoned midway into the first half, following violent confrontation between fans of the two clubs which led to spectators and officials sustaining injuries and loss of personal items.
Scorers for the Peoples’ Elephants include a brace by Stanley Dimgba in the 39th and 67th min. Victor Mbaoma also got one in the 41st min and Anayo in the 61st .
Warriors’ Yakub Hammed scored a consolatory goal in the 75th min.
Meanwhile reports just reaching us say Emmanuel Deutsch, the Head of the team has resigned his appointment with Abia Warriors.
Reasons for his resignation are yet to be known.
