Enyimba v Akwa United Preview
Enyimba host Akwa United in Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 7 at the UJ. Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Thursday.
A late strike ensured Enyimba were beaten 1 nil by El Kanemi Warriors away from home on Sunday, after the defeat, Ogunbote described the match as difficult.
“The match has been won and lost no doubt. Actually, the home team frustrated our game plan by denying us any space to move.
“But we are going back to the drawing board to prepare for the remaining league matches.’’
Akwa United had their first win of the season against Remo Stars on Sunday, a lot of the Promise Keepers fans were pleased the outcome of the match despite it being a slim win.
They beat Remo Stars 1 nil on Sunday courtesy of a late strike from Musa Newman in the 84th minute as they sealed all three points.
Coach Abdul Maikaba was happy and he expressed satisfaction in their first win of the season.

“I am so grateful to my players and they deserved it, so we look to continue to build on this result and it’s a good thing to our confidence.”
This fixture last season ended in a 2-1 win and 1 nil win, home and away for Enyimba.
Enyimba have kept 2 clean sheets in their three home games this season same as Akwa United.
Enyimba would be without Ikechukwu Ibengbu aka Moskito who is set to be sidelined for four weeks, but they still have lots of stars to execute this match.
Akwa United would look to build on Sunday’s result, but on Paper, it does seem Enyimba would be victorious on Thursday evening.
