Ese Brume wins Bronze in Long Jump for Nigeria’s first medal at Tokyo 2020

Ese Brume has won Team Nigeria’s first medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

The 25-year-old who started the Long Jump final like a house fire lost the second place to America’s Brittney Reese.

Germany’s Malaika Mihambo who jumped 7.00m won the gold medal while Brittney Reese who jumped 6.97m same distance as Ese Brume won the silver.

Ese Brume lost the second place despite jumping same distance as Brittney in the final jump because of her previous jumps.

The best jump in Ese Brume back-up distances is 6.90m while that of Brittney Reese was 6.95m.

Ese Brume would be proud of her effort and Nigeria finally have a medal at the Olympics.
