Etor Daniel’s injury overshadows Al Nasr opener win against Rustak FC

Nigeria striker Etor Daniel was injured as his side Al Nasr secured a hard earned 3-0 away win against Rustak FC in their Oman Professional League opener on Saturday.

A lot is expected from the former Enyimba and Rangers attacker in the 2018-2019 season following his impressive display in the 2017-18 season.

The former CHAN player who helped his Omani club to the 2017-18 Oman FA Cup and 2019 season opener Cup started the game brightly but went down in the 15th minutes.

He injured his ankle after receiving multiple kicks from his opponents so much that he was taken out and couldn’t continue the game.

His side won the game 3-0 while the influential attacker watch from the sideline.

Etor Daniel told Sportsration.com after the match that he felt really bad not to have completed the game or help his side but he is hoping for a quick recovery.

“I suffered a seriuos hit from the guys, very serious hit so much that I couldn’t the match.

“I really wanted to help the guys, I wanted to continue where I left it off last season.

“So sad I got injured that early and just couldn’t contribute to the team’s win. I am happy we won but sad I couldn’t help.

“The pain hurts and I hope I would be available as soon as possible. It is an ankle injury, as of now I can play part in our next weekend clash unless a miracle happen.

“I will conti ue to work hard so I an come back quickly, I just want to repay the trust the club has nnme by helping us win all the available titles this season.”

Etor Daniel scored 10 goals and assisted 16 goals for Al Nasr in competition last season.
