The 2022/23 Europa League top scorer, Victor Boniface has started off the new season flying high after helping Bayer Leverkusen beat Hacken 4-0 in their opener.
Boniface, who was in red-hot form last season, wasted no time in making his mark, both scoring a goal and providing an assist as Bayer Leverkusen triumphed at the BayArena on Thursday.
The Nigerian forward showcased his versatility by setting up Florian Wirtz for the opening goal of the game. Boniface delivered a precise through ball to the German player, who elegantly chipped the ball into the net.
Amine Adli extended Bayer’s lead in the 16th minute of the match, and Victor Boniface added his name to the scoresheet in the 67th minute, securing the third goal for the home team.
The 4-0 rout was completed when Jonas Hofmann, who came on as a substitute for Nigeria-eligible Nathan Tella, found the back of the net in the 70th minute.
Victor Boniface’s exceptional performance earned him 73 minutes on the pitch before he was substituted for Adam Hlozek.
