Everything Dakkada FC Coach Emmanuel Ntuk said after their dramatic comeback victory over Edel FC
Following their dramatic comeback 2-1 victory over Edel FC in the NNL week 13 clash at the Uyo Township Stadium on Saturday, April 12, Coach Emmanuel Ntuk of Dakkada FC has shared what he told his players to inspire a turnaround.
Edel FC stunned Dakkada FC when they opened the scoring in Uyo, and looked destined for victory until Dakkada FC fought-back with goals in the 87th and 89th minute to take all three points and continue their solid start to the second half of the Nigeria National League season.
In an exclusive chat with SportsRation’s Nsikakabasi Akpan, Ntuk said he kept telling the boys to keep calm and follow his instructions despite trailing untill the final three minutes of regulation time in front of their fans in Uyo.
He said ” I never gave up. I was confident that if the boys continued playing to instruction coupled with the tactical adjustments I made, we were going to get a goal. So I kept telling the players to remain calm and play to instructions that we will score even in the final seconds of the game. Thank God they listened to me and we scored in the 87th and 89th minute to turn the game around.”
Speaking further, Coach Emmanuel Ntuk praised the fans in the Stadium for their support until the end of the match, saying “everyone, including the fans did well in that tough moment and so it was a very happy ending with celebrations after Kingsley Akpan scored the match-winner.”
Up next for Dakkada FC, is a week 14 visit to Smart City of Lagos on Saturday. Ahead of this fixture, Ntuk says the target is to accumulate enough points and see what it leads to when the season ends.
” We started the second stanza of the season with an away draw in Lagos before beating Edel FC in Uyo last weekend. Our target is to pick points In every match and see what it leads us to at the end of the season. Ntuk concluded.
