Ex 3SC & Super Eagles Goalkeeper Raymond King is dead

 A former goalkeeper of the IICC Shooting Stars now 3SC, Raymond King is dead.
King, who also manned the post for Nigeria’s senior soccer team, Super Eagles, gave up the ghost on Monday, the first day of 2018.
King has been on hospital bed, with partial stroke, since last week.
The ex international was initially admitted at the Ogun state General hospital Ijaye, Abeokuta, before he was taken to the General hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos state, from where the Lagos State Government stepped in and transfered him to Lagos State University teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
The former goalkeeper was about to be transferred to the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital, when he gave up the ghost.
Late Raymond King was part of the Nigeria Flying Eagles squad between 1979 and 1980.
He also made his mark with the IICC Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan in the 1980s.
King was in goal for the club during the then CAF Africa Champions Cup in 1984, where Shooting Stars lost to Zamalek of Egypt in the final.
The former 3SC goal tender  later left the Ibadan club side to join the Abiola Babes of Abeokuta and won 1987 FA Cup with the Abeokuta outfit.
After retiring late King worked as goalkeepers’ trainer for Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta.
