Ex-Atalanta Striker Urges Napoli to Sign Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman
Former Atalanta and Napoli striker, Germán Denis, has advised Napoli to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta this summer.
Lookman has been one of the top performers in Serie A over the past two seasons and has played a key role in Atalanta’s success. He even helped the club win their first European title two seasons ago, scoring a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward has scored 52 goals and provided 25 assists in 118 matches for La Dea.
Lookman’s Future Uncertain
Lookman’s time at Atalanta looks set to end this summer, but it is still unclear where he will go next.
Napoli, who recently won the Serie A title, are reportedly interested in signing the Super Eagles star as they aim to strengthen their squad for next season. The club is hoping to defend the Scudetto and make a strong run in the Champions League.
Denis Backs Lookman for Napoli Move
Speaking in an interview with Napoli Magazine, former striker Germán Denis praised Lookman and said he would be a great addition to the Napoli team.
“Lookman would be perfect for Napoli. He has improved a lot, he’s become a top player and makes a real difference. He would do very well at Napoli,” Denis said.
Will Lookman Join Napoli?
Lookman has proven to be a reliable goalscorer and often steps up in big matches. However, reports suggest that he might prefer a move outside Italy. If he receives a good offer from abroad, he is likely to take it instead of joining the Partenopei.
Lookman for the Super Eagles
Lookman, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, played for England at youth level but switched to Nigeria in 2022. Since then, he has played 29 matches for the Super Eagles, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists.
He continues to impress both at club level and for his country.
