Excellent Uzoho denied by last-gasp Mactominay strike
Nigerian goalkepeer Francis Uzoho was excellent in goal for Omonia Nicosia as they fell to a 1-0 UEFA Europa league loss to Manchester United courtesy of a last-gasp Scott Mactominay strike.
Manchester United laboured in vain for most of the 90 minutes at Old Trafford in search of a goal but were denied by Omonia Nicosia goalie Uzoho.
With the Cypriot side holding off for what would have been a massive point against the Red Devil’s, Scottish Midfielder Scot Mactominay scored in the 3rd minute of additional time to break Omonia hearts.
With regular shotstopper Fabiano ruled out of the UEFA Europa league Matchday four encounter, Uzoho made a rare start in goal for Omonia Nicosia.
A dominant Manchester United team troubled Uzoho’s post and drew 11 saves from the Super who arrived the game short of game time this season.
Manchester United will next face Sheriff Tiraspol in the UEFA Europa league, while Uzoho and Omonia Nicosia will be tested by Real Sociedad as the Spanish side join United on the path to the Knockout round.
