Falconets coach Christopher Danjuma admits tough victory against Korea Republic

Following a narrow 1-0 victory over Korea Republic, Falconets’ head coach, Christopher Danjuma, acknowledged the difficulty of the match, praising his team’s resilience in securing the win.

The Nigerian U20 women’s side edged out their Korean counterparts with a solitary goal from Sebastian Flourish. Despite the win, Danjuma admitted that Korea posed a significant challenge, especially as it was the team’s first match in the tournament.

“It was a tough match, being the first match. The victory is sweet because it puts your foot in the group,” Danjuma said. He went on to commend his players for their determination and expressed confidence in their ability to improve as the tournament progresses. “My team performed well, but I know we’re going to perform much, much, much better than this,” he added.

Looking ahead, the Falconets will face a formidable opponent in Germany on Wednesday in their second group stage match. The team will be aiming to build on their initial success as they continue their quest for glory in the competition.
