Fatai Osho sends message to Akwa United Chairman following resignation from Promise Keepers coaching role

Fatai Osho has sent a heart-warming message to Akwa United FC chairman, Elder Paul Bassey after resigning his role as head coach of the NPFL club.

Osho joined Akwa United FC at the end of the 2022/2023 season and was unveiled to the public days to the kickoff of the new season.

Following a difficult start to the season that has seen the Promise Keepers win just three of fourteen Nigeria Premier Football League games, the former Rivers United FC assistant manager has resigned from the job.

That was after a 1-0 loss to Heartland FC in a Nigeria Premier Football match that has left the 2021 Nigerian champions in 17th place on the log.

In an interesting move, Osho took to his X handle with a tweet to convey his message to the Akwa United FC chairman, Elder Paul Bassey, following his resignation.

Osho tweeted on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. “ELDER PAUL BASSEY, Sir, I can’t thank you enough for my time at Akwa United FC. You’re a rare breed that deserves all happiness and success. We gave it our all but it was not to be.This temporary set back will be followed by unimaginable success. I will forever appreciate you for who you are. A nice man.

God bless you and Akwa United FC family abundantly 🙏

#SuccessAwaits 🙏 🙏 🙏 .

Whereas the results did not go as planned for Osho as planned with Akwa United FC, the on-field difficulty faced and his decision to resign has not affected his relationship with the Promise Keepers chairman.

His post-resignation message is consistent with the remarks he passed about the veteran journalist cum sports administrator during his unveiling ceremony just before the kickoff of the 2023/2024 NPFL season.

Meanwhile, as earlier reported by SPORTSRATION, Akwa United FC will begin the post-osho era on Thursday, December 21, 2023 under the guide of an internally sought replacement.
