FCIU go top in group B, MFM secure away derby win to consolidate top spot in group A
FC Ifeanyi Ubah capitalized on the defeats to El-Kanemi Warriors and Heartland to go top in group B while MFM FC consolidated their place at the top of group A after securing an away win against Remo United in a southwest derby game played at the Oshogbo Township Stadium on Wednesday.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah bounced back from their 2-1 home loss to Abia Warriors on matchday 6 by beating FC Ifeanyiubah 2-0 Gombe United 2-0 on matchday 7 to go top of group B.
Two-second goals from Ikenna Cooper in the 73rd minutes and Nonso Nzediegwu in the 90+4th minutes ensured FC Ifeanyi Ubah secured the maximum points in front of their own fans.
MFM FC were the winner of matchday 7 games played on Wednesday after securing an away win in their derby game against Remo Stars. A goal from Adeniji Kabir in the 13th minutes of the game ensured Fidelis Ilechukwu boys secured the maximum points and remain top of group A.
There were wins for Abia Warriors, Kada City, and Go Round while Rivers United played out a goalless draw in Portharcourt.
