Fidelis Ilechukwu disappointed MFM didn’t beat Enyimba in Calabar

MFM FC coach has expressed his disappointment at not taking the maximum points in Calabar following his sides 1-1 draw against Enyimba at the UJ Esuene Stadium on Saturday.

MFM FC traveled to Calabar full of confidence following their 1-0 victory over Remo Stars and were looking to secure a shocking victory over Enyimba who are winless in their last four games.

A win for Fidelis Ilechukwu side would have taken them joint top with a game to spare but the Olukoya Boys failed to make their chances count and conceded a late goal in Calabar.

Coach Ilechukwu was left disappointed with the outcome of the match and didn’t hide his frustration at the result.

“It was a good game, but in the end, my game plan didn’t work out,” he said.

“We could have scored the 2nd goal, but we didn’t, and I know by this time next week, we would be on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table”.

While the coach wasn’t happy with the result, Sikiru Olatunbosun called on his teammates to build on the result.

“It’s a good feeling, we are very happy, but unfortunately we conceded and couldn’t win.

“But getting a draw away from home is still wonderful and we hope to build on this result in our next game.”

The draw sees Enyimba move to 11th on the log, with 15 points and MFM moving to the 4th place with 20 points.
