Fidelis Ilechukwu: I wish the League could end now

The head coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Football Club, Fidelis Ilechukwu, says he hopes the 2016-17 Nigeria Professional Football League season could end straight away.

MFM FC who defeated Rivers United at the Agege township Stadium on Wednesday are currently sitting at the top of the NPFL table with 27 points from 14 games and the gaffer hopes the season could be done with so his boys could be declared champions.

Fidelis Ilechuckwu expressed his joy at winning another top game against Rivers United while talking up his club’s readiness to do everything to remain top of the log.

“I am very happy with yesterday’s result because we secured the three points in a big game against a big team.

“Rivers United tried their best but we were better than them yesterday. We are now top of the log and I know it is not going to be easy but we will always do our best to come out with the best possible results.

“We are glad to be number 1 in the League at the moment, I wish the league could just end today that means we are champions. But we understand we need points to maintain our status at the top of the log and we are ready to fight for the points,” he said.

MFM FC will travel to Gombe to face Gombe United this weekend looking to continue their impressive run of form.
