FIFA President Criticises Senegal Players For Leaving Pitch In AFCON Final

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has condemned the actions of some Senegal players and officials following ugly scenes during Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final.
Senegal, who eventually went on to win the tournament, briefly walked off the pitch in protest after a penalty was awarded to hosts Morocco during the tense final.
In a statement sent to AFP, Infantino described the incident as unacceptable and said strong action was needed to protect the image of the game.
“We strongly condemn the behaviour of some ‘supporters’ as well as some Senegalese players and technical staff members,” Infantino said.
“It is unacceptable to leave the field of play in this manner.”
The incident overshadowed what was otherwise a high-profile final, as Africa’s biggest football showpiece ended with controversy despite Senegal lifting the trophy.
Senegal, SportsRation gathered will face sanctions from CAF over the incident.
