Finidi George names two players who should make Super Eagles B team for 2024 CHAN qualifiers
The manager of Rivers United, Finidi George, is hopeful that players Stephen Manyo and Taiwo Abdulrafiu will make the home-based Eagles team for the upcoming match against Ghana. The two players are currently competing for a place in the Super Eagles B team for the 2024 Championship of African Nations qualifier against the Black Stars of Ghana.
Manyo and Abdulrafiu were not available for Rivers United’s 2-1 victory over Kwara United in the league. Finidi George expressed his hope that both players will be included in the team for the first leg of the match against Ghana. However, he also mentioned that if they are not selected, they will be welcomed back into the Rivers United team.
“I spoke with both players, and I wished them well,” Finidi said in a statement to Rivers United Media. “They will be going with 18 players, and I hope they will make the final list for the game. If not, we will see if we can have them back, but we will wait and hear from the federation.”
Finidi’s message shows his support for the players and his understanding that the decision will be made by the Nigerian Football Federation. Regardless of the outcome, he remains optimistic about their future with the team.
