Flamingos Coach Confident Ahead of 2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup

Head coach Bankole Olowookere has selected 20 players, including FIFA World Cup scorers Shakirat Moshood and Harmony Chidi, for the tournament.

Head coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, Bankole Olowookere, says he is confident the Flamingos will do well at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Nigeria has been placed in a tough group with France, Canada, and Samoa, but Olowookere believes his team is ready for the challenge.

“This is a tournament, a competition,” he said on the Super Falcons Show. “We have to face all kinds of teams—strong or weak. That’s the only way to become champions. No one gives you the trophy without a fight.”

The Flamingos reached the quarter-finals in the last edition of the tournament, which took place in the Dominican Republic. Olowookere says the goal this time is to go even further.
