Flamingos Thrash Future Stars 99 Academy 15-0 Ahead of Benin Republic Clash

Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, produced an outstanding attacking display as they defeated Future Stars ‘99 Soccer Academy 15-0 in a preparatory match ahead of next week’s encounter against Benin Republic.

The one-sided victory highlighted the Flamingos’ attacking strength, with seven different players getting on the scoresheet in an impressive team performance.

Kindness Ifeanyi was the star of the first half, scoring a hat-trick in the 8th, 10th and 29th minutes to put Nigeria firmly in control. Tosin Rafiu added two goals in the 13th and 19th minutes, while Queen Joseph and Esther Stephen also found the net before the break.

Oluwakemi Adegbuyi converted a penalty just before half-time to give the Flamingos an 8-0 lead at the interval.

The Nigerian girls maintained their dominance in the second half. Oluebube Umejiaku scored twice in the 60th and 65th minutes, while Destiny Itobore added another goal three minutes later.

Precious Oscar then scored twice late in the game before substitute Tobiloba Sarafa completed the rout with two goals in stoppage time.

The convincing victory will boost the confidence of the Flamingos as they continue preparations for their match against Benin Republic on July 4.

The coaching crew will be pleased not only with the number of goals scored but also with the fact that several players contributed, showing the team’s attacking depth ahead of the important fixture.

The upcoming match against Benin Republic is expected to provide a tougher test and another opportunity for the Flamingos to build momentum as they prepare for future international competitions. After such a dominant display, the Nigerian side will head into the encounter full of confidence.
