Flying Eagles depart for WAFU-B U20 Tournament in Lome

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have left for Lome, the capital of Togo, ahead of the WAFU-B U20 tournament,. The team, led by Coach Aliyu Zubair, who also manages El-Kanemi Warriors, departed from the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 10:25 am on Tuesday.

After completing their final phase of preparations at the Remo Stars training complex in Ikenne, the squad is now set to defend their title in Togo. The Nigerian side, placed in Group B, will compete against Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso in the group stage.

Opening Fixture on October 18

The Flying Eagles are scheduled to play their first match against Burkina Faso on Friday, October 18, at 3 pm local time. The encounter will take place at the Municipal Stadium in Lome.

Travelling Contingent

The travelling party includes a 20-man squad, coaching crew, backroom staff, and NFF officials. As the defending champions of the tournament, the Flying Eagles are determined to retain their crown and secure qualification for the next U20 African Cup of Nations.
