Top Dutch club SC Heerenveen have announced that Hamdi Akujobi has signed a three-year professional contract.
Hamdi, 19, was born in Holland and his father Conleth Chika Akujobi is Nigerian. He therefore has dual citizenship.
Hamdi Akujobi has hugely impressed in central midfield for Heerenveen U19s after he joined them from Spartan ’20 of Rotterdam.
He has thus been rewarded with his first pro deal and he will in the summer join the Heerenveen first-team squad for pre-season.
This weekend he will join Nigeria U20s, the Flying Eagles, in a training camp in Germany for the U20 World Cup in Poland.
He trained with the team in Abuja last year.
