Flying Eagles Reach WAFU B U20 Final After Beating Niger on Penalties

Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, have booked their place in the final of the 2025 WAFU B U20 Championship after defeating Niger Republic 4–3 on penalties.
The semi-final match, played at the Cape Coast Stadium, ended 0-0 after regulation time as both teams failed to convert their chances in a tight encounter.
With no extra time in the tournament format, the game went straight to penalties, where the Flying Eagles held their nerve to score four spot-kicks and edge out a determined Nigerien side.
Nigeria will now face the winner of the second semi-final between hosts Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. local time on Sunday evening.
The final will not only decide the WAFU B U20 champion but will also determine who qualifies for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
