Flying Eagles soar in pre World Cup Friendly win

Nigeria`s U-20 team the Flying Eagles on Saturday excelled in a pre World Cup friendly win over Argentine club CA Brown.
Goals from Salim Fago, Emmanuel Umeh and Tochukwu Nnadi helped the Flying Eagles defeat Club Almirante Brown 2-3 in a thrilling encounter.
The match in Buenos Aires is one of two tune-up games lined up for the Ladan Bosso tutored Flying Eagles as they put finishing touches to preparations for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.
The Flying Eagles will face Colombia U-20 in another friendly game on Tuesday May 16.
After the friendly game with Colombia, the Flying Eagles will depart Buenos Aires and fly to Mendoza.
Group D games of the Argentina 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup will be played in Mendoza. Nigeria will face Dominican Republic, Italy and Brazil in a difficult group.
Nigeria`s first game of the tournament is Dominican Republic on May 21, Ladan Bosso and his boys will face Italy on May 24 before taking on Brazil in the final group game on May 27, 2023.
To qualify for the World Cup, Nigeria`s Flying Eagles finished in 3rd place at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations to become one of four African teams to the 2023 FIFA World Cup.
The 2023 edition will be Nigeria`s 13th appearance at the U-20 World Cup.
Nigeria has never won the tournament, the best finish was quater-final spots in 2007 and 2011.
