For the first time ever Super Eagles stars make all three UEFA Club Competitions semis

There will be at least one Super Eagles star in action as the UEFA Club Competitions reach the last four.

They will be in action when the semi-final games resume in all three tiers of UEFA Club Competitions; Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

This is the first time this is happening that a Super Eagles star will be playing in all three UEFA Club Competitions.

In this article, SportsRation breaks down all the players that will be involved in the competition.

3. UEFA Europa Conference League

On paper, four Super Eagles stars will be involved in the last stages (except for Wilfred Ndidi who is out with injury).

Cyriel Dessers and Feyenoord will face Olympique Marseille in the semis, the first leg will be played in the Netherlands on the 28th of April.

The duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman will be playing for Leicester City who have a crunch semifinal tie against Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

This is the maiden edition of the tournament hopefully, any of the four Nigerian players left in the competition can make history by winning the title.

2. UEFA Europa League

Victor Moses, Chidi Odiah, Mikel Obi, Taribo West, and Kanu Nwankwo have won this title as UEFA Cup/Europa as the case may be and the trio of Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun, and Calvin Bassey could join the list.

Rangers will travel to Germany to play the first leg of their semifinal ties against RB Leipzig. Hopefully, Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun, and Calvin Bassey can take a step into playing in the final.

1. Champions League

Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu, and Mikel Obi have all won the biggest club football trophy in the past and Samuel Chukwueze who is the only Nigerian player in the last stages of the competition will be looking to emulate the legendary Eagle stars.

Chukwueze scored the goal that earned Villarreal a place in the semis instead of the might Bayern Munich.

Again, it is the first time ever, that at least a Super Eagles star will be playing in all three UEFA Club Competitions because the Conference League started this season.
