Former Senegal Coach Thiaw Demands Over 423 Million CFA From Football Federation
Former Senegal national team coach Pape Bouna Thiaw has demanded 423.8 million CFA francs from the Senegal Football Federation (FSF) over unpaid salaries, bonuses, allowances and other expenses.
Thiaw’s lawyers sent a formal letter to the federation on August 13, 2026. They gave the FSF eight days to pay the money or face possible legal action.
The total amount being demanded is about $747,581.
The claim includes:
- Six months’ salary: 180 million CFA
- Signing bonus: 90 million CFA
- Special bonus: 30 million CFA
- Professional expenses: 10.7 million CFA
- Housing allowance: 12 million CFA
- Fuel expenses: 1.1 million CFA
- AFCON and World Cup qualification bonuses: 100 million CFA
According to the notice, Thiaw’s contract included a monthly salary of 30 million CFA. His lawyers say he has not received his salary for six months, from March to August 2026.
Thiaw is also claiming money for expenses he reportedly paid himself, including travel costs during a tour in April.
His legal team has asked the Senegal Football Federation to pay the full amount within eight days.
If the federation does not settle the claim, Thiaw could take the matter to court.
