Four Championship Clubs Interested in Nigerian Forward Olakunle Olusegun
Four English Championship clubs are looking to sign FC Krasnodar winger Olakunle Olusegun this summer, SportsRation reports.
Watford, Middlesbrough, QPR, and Millwall have all made early contact with the 22-year-old’s representatives to discuss a possible move. Talks are still in the early stages and no deal has been agreed yet.
Olusegun made his debut for the Super Eagles recently in the friendly match against Russia in Moscow, coming on as a substitute with less than 15 minutes to play. He impressed with his pace and energy, and nearly scored a late winner for Nigeria.
The young winger first gained attention in 2019 when he became top scorer at the WAFU Zone B qualifiers for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations, scoring four goals. He later represented Nigeria at both the U17 Afcon and the FIFA U17 World Cup the same year.
Before joining Russian side Krasnodar in 2021, Olusegun had spells with FDC Vista Gelendzhik, Fremad Amager in Denmark, and Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria.
Olusegun’s strong form and recent national team debut have now made him a target for several English clubs as the summer transfer window approaches.
