Gabriel Osho Set for Bright Future as He Nears New AJ Auxerre Deal
Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho looks set to continue his career in France, with reports claiming he has reached an agreement to extend his stay at AJ Auxerre.
The 26-year-old centre-back, who joined Auxerre after leaving English side Luton Town, initially signed a one-year contract with an option for two more years. After impressing the club with his strong performances, talks over a new deal have progressed well. According to Africa Foot, an official announcement is expected soon.
Osho has quickly become a key player in Auxerre’s defence. In 19 appearances, he has helped the team keep five clean sheets. His defensive stats include 18 tackles, 13 interceptions, and 22 aerial duels won. Despite picking up one yellow and one red card, his reading of the game and positioning have made him a reliable figure at the back.
Wearing the famous number 3 jersey once worn by Super Eagles legend Taribo West, Osho is following in the footsteps of one of Auxerre’s greatest defenders. West was known for his commanding displays during Auxerre’s successful years in the 1990s.
Now, Osho has the chance to write his own story at the club. By signing a new deal, he could cement his place as a key part of Auxerre’s future and continue his rise in French football.
