Gabriel Osho to miss Luton Town vs Forest, a doubt for Super Eagles in March Int’l break
Luton Town defender Gabriel Osho is a doubt for the Nigeria Super Eagles International Friendly games against Ghana and Mali. SportsRation reports.
The defender was named in Nigeria’s squad for the first time but his debut may be delayed as he battles injury that has ruled him out of this weekends Premier League engagement.
The Nigeria Football Federation recently revealed a list of 26 players selected to participate in the two matches, with Osho’s inclusion notably highlighted.
However, the defender’s availability for the fixtures has been compromised due to an injury setback.
Osho was sidelined for Luton Town’s recent midweek fixture against Bournemouth, and according to Luton Town coach Rob Edward, he will not recover in time for the weekend encounter against Nottingham Forest, let alone be fit for international duty.
Coach Edward confirmed Osho’s unavailability, stating, “He’s still in pain today, so not going to be good for tomorrow.”
Despite Luton Town’s inconsistent performances this season, Osho has been a standout performer for the club, showcasing his talent and earning recognition with his call-up to the Super Eagles squad.
While Osho’s potential absence represents a setback for the Super Eagles ahead of their friendly matches against Ghana and Mali, the Nigerian team will look out to other options to prosecute the games.
