Gateway United Holds Stakeholders Forum In Abeokuta
Ahead of the 2019/20 Nigeria Nationwide League, NNL season, Ogun State based football club, Gateway United this Friday held its first stakeholders forum which is aimed at restructuring the club side.
The forum which was held at the VIP Lounge of the MKO Abiola Intl Stadium, Kuto Abeokuta saw stakeholders in the sports sector in Ogun State give their suggestions on the various ways in which the management of the club can better the goods of the club side.
Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Kunle Soname after listening to various messages from stakeholders at the forum said it’s time Gateway United follow the trend required to have a functional club aimed at development and promotion into the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.
While the the representative of the Ogun State Governor, Mr Lekan Olude, who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Job Creation and Youth development appreciated the effort of the club’s management in putting the forum together adding that the discussions at the forum will be properly communicated to the state governor.
A 5-man committee was also constituted to harmonise the discussions at the forum with its report expected to be submitted after two weeks that will subsequently be sent to the state government so as to achieve the desired result.
Stakeholders at the forum included; Special Adviser to the Governor on Job Creation and Youth development, Mr Lekan Olude. Chairman, House Committee on Sport and Employment Generation, Hon. Sola Adams. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth And Sports, Mr Peter Kolawole Fagbohun. Former Commissioner of Youths and Sports in the state, Hon. Moruf Afolabi Afuape and Hon. Bukola Olopade. Former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sir Prince Niyi Olatidoye. NFF Board Member, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi. Ex International, Ike Sorunmu, Retired Justice Dehinde Soremi among others.
