Giannis Antetokounmpo storms Lagos for Youth tournament

Two-time NBA MVP and Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Ugo Antetokounmpo is in Lagos, Nigeria, for the Youth Alive Basketball Championship.

The NBA star made an appearance at the Rowe Park Yaba venue of the championship on Friday July 28th after organisers received a late call confirming his attendance. He joined the kids to play some pick-up games in what was his first visit to Nigeria in years.

Antetokounmpo has always been proud of his Nigerian heritage, often proudly proclaiming his name ‘Adetokunbo’ to press and media back in the USA. The one-time NBA Finals MVP proudly wore a hoodie to honour his Nigerian heritage to the 2022 All-Star Game.
