Giannis makes NBA history with another dominant performance in Bucks win

Giannis Antetokounmpo is off to a record-breaking start to the new NBA season. The Milwaukee Bucks star led his team to a 122–116 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, producing yet another huge performance that has already put him in the league’s history books.

Giannis finished with 31 points, 20 rebounds, and seven assists, shooting an impressive 60 percent from the field. He also made both of his three-point attempts and added one block on defence.

The 30-year-old forward has now become the first player in NBA history to open a season with back-to-back games of at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, all while shooting 60 percent or better from the floor.

Giannis played 38 minutes, going 7-for-12 from the free-throw line, and came close to another triple-double. It was also his seventh career game with at least 30 points and 20 rebounds — his last coming against the same Raptors team in January 2023.

The Bucks’ win moves them to 2–0 for the season, a strong start after last year’s disappointing early playoff exit.

Many had speculated that Giannis might look to leave Milwaukee after that setback, but the Greek superstar made it clear he still wants to chase another championship with the Bucks.

Through two games, Giannis is already playing at an MVP level, leading both by example and by numbers.

The Bucks return to action on Sunday when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers.
