Gift Orban nets double as Gent secure big win

Nigerian youngster takes league tally to nine

Nigerian striker Gift Orban was the star of the show for KAA Gent as they strolled to a 5-0 win at RFC Seraing in their Belgian Pro League clash. The 20-year-old scored twice and made another for his side as they moved into the final Championship playoff spot.

Having missed put as the Olympic Eagles were dumped out of contention for the U23 AFCON, Orban was once again tasked with leading the line for Gent. The in-form striker faced the challenge head-on and opened the scoring for his side in the 18th minute as he reacted quickest to a ball into the box, getting the ball out of his feet before finishing tidily into the bottom corner.

Gift Orban, who saw his goal against Anderlecht nominated for goal of the month, scored his second of the night in the 52nd minute to put his side in control as he latched onto a loose ball before rounding the goalkeeper and firing his effort into the back of the net for his 14th goal in only 11 games in all competitions since joining the club.

Not done influencing the game, Gift Orban provided an assist for Hugo Cuypers with a delightful dinked pass which was finished rather fortuitously by the Belgian forward.

Gent added a fourth after 62 minutes through German-Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha before Cuypers rounded off the scoring in the 77th minute to give his side a resounding win away from home.
