Go Round president promises 3 million cash gift if team beat Akwa United

President of Go Round FC, Charity Obuah has offered her players the sum of three million naira if they beat Akwa United in Uyo on Sunday in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Go Round FC have suffered poor results at home (drawing twice and winning once) after their away win over Abia Warriors in Umuahia leading Charity Obuah to dangle these carrots at the players and officials.

Charity Obuah, a lawyer, hotelier, school proprietor and business woman took over the reins of the club in January 2019 after her husband Felix stepped down as club president. This makes her the Nigeria’s only female club president in the top tier of the league.

After the teams’ away win over Abia Warriors, she promised one million naira and delivered within twenty-four hours. She has upped the stakes for this game in Uyo, making it three million for three points.

“I know it will be a difficult game in Uyo but the players have what it takes to win, that is why I am making this offer to give them that little extra push,” Obuah said.

Go Round FC currently sit 4th in their NPFL group after five games. They have won two, drawn two and lost one.

A win in Uyo will take them into top two and further compound the woes of Akwa United who are yet to win at home this season.
