Gomis Hails Osimhen for Flying Galatasaray’s Flag with Pride
Former Galatasaray striker Bafetimbi Gomis has praised Victor Osimhen for his outstanding form at the Turkish club, saying the Nigerian forward is doing a great job and making Galatasaray, Nigeria, and Africa proud.
Osimhen, 26, joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last September and has quickly become a fan favourite. He has scored 33 goals in all competitions this season, helping the Istanbul club move closer to winning both the league and domestic cup.
Gomis, who was top scorer when Galatasaray won the Turkish title in 2018, said he is proud of Osimhen’s efforts.
“Osimhen is wearing the Galatasaray colours with honour,” said Gomis. “He is doing an excellent job. I hope he leads us to the title and makes everyone in Nigeria and Africa proud. He is a hard-working and determined player.”
Now retired, Gomis enjoyed a successful career with clubs like Lyon, Swansea, and Marseille before joining Galatasaray. He says Osimhen doesn’t need advice, as he is already showing his quality.
“Osimhen has already earned the love of Galatasaray fans,” he added. “He should keep going, keep scoring goals, and keep making us proud. I wish him all the best.”
Osimhen’s future remains unclear. While he is still under contract with Napoli until 2026, his strong performances in Turkey have attracted attention from top clubs in Europe. Galatasaray may find it hard to keep him if big offers come in during the summer.
But for now, fans will hope the Nigerian striker can lead them to a famous league and cup double.
