Govt Officials Dampen Gov. Wike’s Dream For Wrestling as Nigeria finishes top

Media representatives boycotted the coverage of the final day of the 2018 African Wrestling Championships which ended in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

The reason for the boycott was attributed to the ill treatment and deceits meted out to journalists who were left stranded without the provision necessary tools to work with, in order to deliver.

Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Emma Okah, was accused of not living up to his responsibility to cater for the welfare of journalists which included the inability of WiFi to be provided to ease the work of the media during the 4-day event.

However, despite the decision of media representatives to boycott the coverage of the competition, the final Medals Table still managed to surface
