Gundogan guns down United to gift Manchester City FA Cup title
Manchester City skipper Ilkay Gundogan scored both goals to help the Citizens gun down Manchester United and win the English FA Cup title.
Ilkay Gundogan scored the fastest goal in FA Cup final history, in just 13 seconds to put City ahead at Wembley on Saturday June 3.
That goal broke Louis Saha’s record of 25 seconds. In 2009, French striker Saha scored after 25 seconds for Everton against Chelsea FC.
The lead gave Guardiola’s men confidence to boss proceedings until a rare United attack provided opportunity for an equalizer in the 31st minute.
Wan-Bissaka headed the ball against the raised arm of City midfielder Jack Grealish. A VAR Review forced a penalty which Bruno Fernandez stepped up to score and level the game at 1-1.
Six minutes after the restart for the second half, Gundogan scored another stunning goal with a volley from the top of the United box.
Kevin De Bruyne found Gundogan on the edge of the box on the left side and the latter struck the volley with his left foot into the near post corner of a diving David de Gea.
That goal was enough to secure victory for the treble-chasing Citizens as they add the English FA Cup to their 2022/2023 English Premier League crown.
A UEFA Champions League final awaits Vs Inter Milan to end a fantastic season for Manchester City.
