Hajduk 0 Gorica 2: Iyayi Atiemwen on target as Goričani secure first win of the season
Nigerian midfielder Iyayi Believe Atiemwen was the hero as his Croatian club HNK Gorcia beat Hadjuk Split 2-0 in their Croatian first football league matchday four on Sunday.
Goričani as his club are fondly called have failed to win any of their first three league games of the season after 2-3 home loss to Zapresic, 3-3 drawa gainst Slaven Belupo and 2-0 away loss to Rejika but Iyayi put a stop to the winless streak.
The 22-year-old midfielder opened the scoring for the visitors in the 27th minutes of the clash before Lukasz Zwolinski scored the second in the 40th minutes to ensure the three points are in the bag.
The former Bendel Insurance midfielder who joined Gorcia from Turkish club Rizespor has played every minute of the games played by his Croatian club in the league this season.
