Hamilton Says Not to Expect Big Changes from Ferrari Upgrade

Lewis Hamilton has told Ferrari fans not to expect a big improvement from the new car upgrade at this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix.

Hamilton, who joined Ferrari this year after leaving Mercedes, has had a tough start to the season. He hasn’t finished on the podium in any of the first 11 races, while his teammate Charles Leclerc has managed three podiums.

Ferrari had high hopes this season but the car hasn’t performed as well as expected. They’ve made several upgrades, and this weekend they’ve brought a new floor for the car, which they hope will help.

Hamilton said:
“The team have worked hard on the new floor, but we don’t know yet how much of a difference it will make. We’ll find out tomorrow.”

He added:
“Don’t expect a big change. Hopefully it’s a step forward, but we just don’t know yet. The important thing is that we’re moving in the right direction.”

Despite the struggles, Hamilton says he’s trying to stay positive and is focusing on building for the future – especially for 2026, when new F1 rules will come in.

He also said he was proud of the work he’s done behind the scenes, including helping produce F1: The Movie, which stars Brad Pitt and has just been released.

“Of course, we all want to be winning races, but I’m enjoying the process of building something new here at Ferrari,” he said.
“The film has also been a big highlight – hearing fans laugh and cheer in cinemas has been amazing.”

Ferrari will test their latest updates throughout the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, hoping to get back in the fight with front-runners McLaren and Red Bull.
