“Happy Hour” – Ibom Angels FC Chairman Hosts Players and Officials in Prayer and Thanksgiving Meet

It was a moment of joy, gratitude, and reflection for the players and officials of Ibom Angels Football Club on Friday, October 31, as the club’s chairman, Prince Ukeme Ukpong, hosted a special “Happy Hour” thanksgiving session at the team’s clubhouse inside the Uyo Township Stadium.
The event, tagged “Thank God It’s Friday” and themed “Give Thanks Unto God”, was organised in line with Governor Umo Eno’s Happy Hour initiative to celebrate God’s faithfulness and strengthen unity within the team ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.
The one-hour gathering, held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., featured praise and worship, hymns, Bible reading, exhortations, special prayers, and plenty of delicious meals and refreshments.

Represented by the Team Manager, Honourable Mary Udobia, Prince Ukpong said the meeting was aimed at appreciating God for His goodness and creating an opportunity for the players and staff to relax, bond, and renew their team spirit.

“Nothing succeeds without the involvement of God. This gathering provides the perfect opportunity for us to thank Him and for our players to bond and strengthen relationships ahead of the new season,” he said.
During his exhortation, the club’s Assistant Secretary, Pastor Cyril Orok, emphasised that thanksgiving is one of the surest ways to attract God’s favour. His message followed a Bible reading taken from Psalms 92:1-2, delivered by Chief Coach Ubong Sunday.
The atmosphere turned lively during the praise and worship session, as the players displayed impressive dance moves that drew cheers and applause from everyone present.
Goodwill messages came from Head Coach Edwin Okon and Team Coordinator Honourable Nda Nda, both of whom praised the players for their commitment and urged them to keep up their hard work and discipline.
The colourful event ended with a feast of mouth-watering dishes and refreshing drinks, leaving everyone in high spirits as they prepared to return to the pitch for pre-season training.
Meanwhile, Ibom Angels continued their fine pre-season form later in the day, thrashing the U-15 boys of Efilay Babes Academy 5–0 in a friendly match at the same venue.
Birthday girl Uduakobong Peter got on the scoresheet, while Esther Ifeoma netted twice after coming off the bench. Joy Ogeala and Mmesoma Uchendu also found the back of the net in a dominant performance that showcased the team’s readiness for the upcoming NWFL Premiership campaign.
