Harcourt Awaits Final Decision as Flying Eagles, Super Eagles Call

Young Nigerian goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt is facing a selection challenge as he awaits a final decision on whether he will represent the Flying Eagles or join the home-based Super Eagles camp ahead of two major assignments.

Harcourt is currently training in Abuja with Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, as they prepare for the WAFU B U20 Championship, which kicks off in Ghana on July 10. However, his name also appears on the list of 35 players invited to the Super Eagles’ home-based camp starting Monday in Ogun State.

The overlapping commitments have left the goalkeeper in a difficult position.

Speaking to BSNSports.com.ng, Harcourt confirmed he is fit and ready for the WAFU B tournament but said the final decision on where he will play is not his to make.

“I’m 100 percent fit for the WAFU B U20 tournament,” he said. “Choosing between staying with the Flying Eagles and joining the Super Eagles camp is not easy. I’ll leave that decision to the team officials.”

Despite the uncertainty, Harcourt is focused on helping the Flying Eagles succeed and believes they can win the tournament.

“We are going to Ghana to dominate and win again,” he said confidently.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is expected to step in and make the final call on Harcourt’s immediate future to avoid further disruption and ensure the best outcome for both teams — and the player himself.
