Harry Kane ‘not bothered’ by Ballon D’or snub

Harry Kane is “not bothered” that he was not shortlisted for the Ballon D’Or award, according to team-mate Eric Dier.

Kane, 23, finished as the Premier League’s top goalscorer last season, but was left off the 30-man strong shortlist, from which the three best players in the world will be named.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero both made the list, as did Kane’s Tottenham team-mate, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

“He could have been on that list, though I am sure he is not too bothered about it,” Dier told the Evening Standard.

“Leicester won the Premier League but that doesn’t mean to say Harry should miss out, to be top scorer in the league after the slow start he had was a brilliant achievement.”
